PREDATOR IN A WHITE COAT: NHS Abuser Behind Bars!

Ieuan Crump, a man once dedicated to healing, now faces nine years in prison for betraying the trust placed in him.

The courtroom heard harrowing accounts of the devastation he inflicted, painting a picture of lives irrevocably altered by his actions. One woman described her existence as a relentless “nightmare” since the assaults began.

The emotional toll was immense. She revealed the assaults triggered a desperate struggle with intrusive thoughts, ultimately leading to three attempts on her own life. She simply wanted the torment to end, to escape the haunting memories of what Crump had done.

Pictured here is Ieuan Crump A "sadistic" trainee medic who sexually assaulted two women patients during bogus tests was jailed for nine years today(thurs). Trainee health worker Ieuan Crump, 27, made a "no entry sign" to hang on the wall of his hospital room while he carried out the fake tests so he could abuse his victims. A court heard both women were "in pain" when they were being treated by Crump who carried out "unnecessary tests" in order to target them. Crump sexually assaulted the women by touching their vaginas, breasts and bottoms while they were being treated at an NHS hospital. Prosecutor Matthew Roberts said: "This was the most egregious, grotesque abuse of trust by somebody in a position of responsibility. "The defendant targeted both these women in the sense they were young, vulnerable, of a similar physical appearance and in obvious pain." He said both women had also been treated with opiate-based painkiller Oramorph which could lead to confusion when Crump began the fake tests. Mr Roberts said: "The defendant is sadistic and calculating. He knew these women were in considerable pain but notwithstanding targeted them for his own sexual pleasure." Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard Crump's first victim came on to the ward at the Grange University Hospital after having her appendix removed and complained of swelling in her stomach. But Crump used a bladder scanner to examine her bladder and groin - before taking her into a room alone where he inserted a catheter into her - something he was not trained to do. Crump unnecessarily asked the women to pull her shorts down and put her legs up when he touched her inappropriately. The second woman had been suffering with a bowel condition when Crump carried out an "intimate" vaginal examination and began examining her bottom. In a victim personal statement the woman said Crump's crimes had led to her attempting suicide on three separate occasions and had been left suffering from PTSD and anxiety. She said: "I just wanted my life to be over so I did not have to relive what was in my head about what Ieuan did to me." The other woman said she suffered flashbacks of "vivid depictions of Ieuan Crump sexually assaulting me." She added: "I struggle at just the thought of being in a room with an unknown male. The whole matter has made me untrusting of men. "It's made me think that if a healthcare worker can commit such a crime then any man can be a threat." Crump was found guilty of nine charges of sexual assault, including three counts of assault by penetration following a retrial. Marian Lewis, defending, said Crump had previously worked as a St Johns Ambulance volunteer and helped in his community before the offences. Judge Vanessa Francis jailed Crump, of Gilfach, Caerphilly, for nine years and told he must serve at least two thirds of that term behind bars. He must also sign the sex offenders register for life and was issued with restraining orders banning him from contacting his victims. Speaking after the sentence, Michael Jenkin of the Crown Prosecution Service said: ???Ieuan Crump exploited his position of power over two women when they were at their most vulnerable, for his own sexual gratification. ???His actions were an extreme breach of trust which was calculated and deliberate. ???The courage shown by the two women in giving their evidence to the jury allowed the Crown Prosecution Service to present a strong case, resulting in these convictions, and we thank them for their support.??? The betrayal extended beyond the physical. She now lives with a profound distrust of medical professionals, unable to seek help without reliving the trauma. She feels reduced to a mere “shell” of her former self, a ghost of the person she once was.

Another victim spoke of a shattered sense of safety, explaining how Crump’s actions had poisoned her ability to trust men. The realization that a healthcare worker could commit such a violation led her to believe any man posed a threat.

Judge Vanessa Francis addressed Crump directly, acknowledging his past dedication to healthcare but highlighting a disturbing undercurrent of isolation and arrogance. She emphasized the profound and utter devastation he had caused.

The details of his crimes were particularly chilling. He conducted unnecessary examinations, deliberately avoiding gloves to achieve “skin-to-skin” contact, a calculated act of violation. This wasn’t medical care; it was a predatory abuse of power.

The judge condemned the extreme breach of trust, emphasizing that Crump had manipulated women at their most vulnerable – in pain and seeking help. He exploited their weakness for his own twisted gratification.

In delivering the nine-year sentence, Judge Francis also decreed that Crump would be permanently barred from working with children or vulnerable individuals, ensuring he could no longer inflict such harm.
